Crete Township Republicans are expressing their disdain for leftist pushback to recent court rulings.
“The woke Left do not have much tolerance for the rights of conservatives... especially conservative people of faith,” Crete Township Republicans said on Facebook.
The United States Supreme Court made three significant decisions, including ruling against racial preferences in college admissions, defending free speech in relation to discrimination laws, and stating that President Biden lacked the authority to forgive certain student loans. Leading Illinois progressives responded to these rulings with insulting and divisive comments, despite the fact that the decisions align with the views of most Americans, as indicated by recent polls.
“Earlier polling by Pew Research found much stronger opposition to racial preferences and forced speech on LGBTQ+ free speech issues,” Wirepoints said in a report on the issue. “Nearly three out of four (73%) Americans said they oppose racial preference in admissions, and 60% percent said business owners should be able to refuse to provide services if doing so would suggest support for LGBTQ+ issues to which they have ‘personal or religious objections.’”
The rulings and discontent from those on the left came just after a bombshell ruling in which the federal government was ordered to stop colluding with tech companies to censor the speech of Americans on the internet. The judge determined that the White House likely engaged in censorship and suppression of protected speech during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a preliminary injunction that limits the coordination between government officials and social media giants.
“Each example or category of suppressed speech was conservative in nature,” U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty said, according to the New York Post.
Doughty in particular pointed to a parody account of one of President Joe Biden’s granddaughters that was taken down.
“This targeted suppression of conservative ideas is a perfect example of viewpoint discrimination of political speech,” Doughty wrote, the Post also reported. “American citizens have the right to engage in free debate about the significant issues affecting the country … the evidence produced thus far depicts an almost dystopian scenario.”
