City of Joliet Public Safety Committee met Feb. 7.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL

Present: Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Larry E. Hug and Councilman Joe Clement

ALSO PRESENT: Fire Chief Jeff Carrey and Fleet Services Director Jeff Price

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to approve the minutes of the February 7, 2023, Public Safety Committee Meeting.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS

PURCHASES

Purchase of Chest Compression Devices for the Joliet Fire Department from Stryker Lucas Devices in the amount of $135,454.86

Fire Chief Carey briefly discussed the Purchase of Chest Compression for the Joliet Fire Department from Stryker Lucas Devices.

Purchase of Battery Operated Cots for the Joliet Fire Department from FERNO in the amount of $176,716.80.

Fire Chief briefly discussed the purchase of Battery Operated Cots for the Joliet Police Department from FERNO.

Purchase of Stairlift Chairs for the Joliet Fire Department from FERNO in the amount of $38,406.60.

Fire Chief Carey briefly discussed the Purchase of Stairlift Chairs for the Joliet Fire Department from FERNO.

A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilman Larry E. Hug, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO ID-981-20, TMP-5148, and TMP-5147.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement

Purchase of 2 Ambulance Bodies from Foster Coach in the amount of $728,754.00

A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilman Larry E. Hug, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5192: Purchase of 2 Ambulance Bodies from Foster Coach in the amount of $728,754.00.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement

Mr. Price briefly discussed the Purchase of 2 Ambulances for the Joliet Fire Department. There was a brief discussion on the Purchase of the two ambulances.

Councilman Clement inquired about the city's graffiti van. Mr. Price replied.

There was a brief discussion on the city's graffiti van.
