Y. PRESENTATION OF AWARDS 

1. The Nature Foundation of Will County

Commissioner and Nature Foundation of Will County Director Mueller along with Commissioners Gould, Ventura, and Nature Foundation of Will County’s Executive Director Harn presented the Forest Preserve District with a check for $5,274,00 for the following programs:

• DiveIN! Special Traveling Event $2,000 - This free, all ages event, being held at Plum Creek Nature center on Saturday, September 24, is an annual traveling event offered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

• Bench Seating for the Four Rivers Campus exterior Interpretive Experience $3,274.00 - Styrolution America (INEOS) in Channahon expressed their interest in making a gift to Four Rivers Environmental Education Center that would be used to bring in visitors at this site. As part of the Phase II Exterior Campus Exhibit Project at Four Rivers there are 5 large interpretive kiosks planned that include a site map, interpretive panel, and seating element. INEOS’s generous gift will provide seating elements which will allow visitors an opportunity to sit, read, and reflect as they walk the trail and experience the interpretive story.

Commissioner Mueller acknowledged The Nature Foundation support of more than $35,000, so far this year.

President VanDuyne thanked The Nature Foundation for their continued support.
