City of Wilmington Finance, Administration & Land Acquisition Committee met Aug. 16.

The meeting of the Finance, Administration & Land Acquisition Committee was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Alderman Kirwin.

Approve Previous Meeting Minutes

Alderman Knight made a motion and Alderman Jeffries seconded to approve the July 19, 2022 meeting minutes as written and have them placed on file. Upon the voice vote, the motion passed.

Review Accounting Reports

The Committee reviewed the accounts payable report as prepared by Finance Director Hoffman.

Review UB Memo Prepared by Finance Director

No memo was provided at this meeting.

Other Pertinent Information

Administrator Smith stated that the Lions Club is preparing for the “There’s No Place Like Home” event on September 10th. This event is being held on North Water Street. Planners of the event are looking at options to paint the path in Claire’s Corner with temporary yellow paint to mimic the yellow brick road and will be placing a giant witch on the roof of The Rustic.

Director Gretencord reviewed the Water Treatment Plant lime sludge project with the Committee.

Administrator Smith informed the Committee that all the site accessories for the construction of the downtown parking lot have been received. A project timeline should be distributed by the end of this week.

No public comment was made.

Adjournment

The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Alderman Knight and seconded by Alderman Jeffries. Upon voice vote, all yes, the motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 P.M.
