The District 202 Plainfield Parent Community Network (PPCN) will present this special free program in the auditorium at Plainfield High School – Central Campus, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield. Please park on the north side of the building near the Freshman Center/Door G.
Doors will open and community resources will be available at 6 p.m. The program will start at 6:30 p.m
*Based on current state COVID-19 guidelines, attendees are strongly encouraged, but not required to wear masks inside the school. However, the guidance in place at the time of this event will apply.

Veteran social workers Tami Curry and Jessica Mueller will lead the program. They have over 20 years of combined professional experience with family and individual counseling, crisis intervention and much more, and specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families.
“Many students of all ages and their families are suffering incredible stress because of the pandemic and numerous other issues in the world right now,” said Tim Albores, District 202 Director for High School Student Services. Albores helped form the PPCN.
“We want to do everything we can to give our parents and guardians tools to minimize stress for themselves and their kids, so that our students have every chance for success in school,” he said
The program will include
• Effective, easy strategies to promote strong mental health
• Simple ideas for parent-child connection, interaction, and conversation
• Practical tips to help regulate stress and other strong emotions
• Ideas to create a skills “toolbox” to promote coping and resilience
District 202 social workers, special education administrators and counselors formed the PPCN in fall 2016 to support parents with common parenting needs. A committee comprising district administrators, principals, counselors, and community members oversees the PPCN.
