DISTRICT 202 NEWS -- Seventeen D. 202 musicians selected for ILMEA All-State event

Plainfield – Seventeen District 202 high school student musicians will participate in the annual Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) All-State Student Programs for Band, Chorus, Jazz, and Orchestra on January 26-29, 2022, in Peoria.
Participation in this event is one of the most prestigious honors in high school music in the state. The students auditioned virtually last fall for the state honor due to the pandemic.

These student musicians from Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield North High School and Plainfield East High School were named to the state program:

Plainfield High School-Central Campus:

Jazz Band

·         Lucas Forbear, senior – Bass trombone

Composition Contest

·         Will Snydersmith, senior, third place

Future Music Educator Symposium

·         Kaelyn Witt, senior

Choir

·         Blake Barnickel, senior – Tenor II, All-State Honors Vocal Jazz

·         Joey Bonasera, junior – Bass 1, All-State Choir

·         Emma Rizzo, junior - Alto 2, All-State Honors Choir

·         Ella Schuler, sophomore – Soprano 2, All-State Honors Choir
