City of Joliet City Council met June 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

ROLL CALL:

Councilman Hug arrived at the meeting at 5:31 p.m.

Councilman Mudron arrived at the meeting at 5:33 p.m.

Present:

Mayor Robert O'Dekirk, Councilman Joseph Clement, Councilman Bettye Gavin, Councilman Cesar Guerrero, Councilman Larry E. Hug, Councilman Terry Morris, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Sherri Reardon

ALSO PRESENT: City Manager James V. Capparelli and Corporation Counsel Sabrina Spano

PRESENTATION:

Arts Commission Update - Erick Deshaun Dorris

Mr. Erick Deshaun Dorris gave a brief update on the Arts Commission's goals, discussed a unique opportunity through the American Rescue Plan Act to invest in our public arts program and how the arts could contribute to public safety through creative placemaking.

Joe Merzoni, attorney for the petitioner, spoke in favor Council Memo 307-21. Councilman Clement spoke regarding this item.
