City of Joliet City Council met June 14.

ROLL CALL:

Councilman Hug arrived at the meeting at 5:31 p.m.

Councilman Mudron arrived at the meeting at 5:33 p.m.

Present:

Arts Commission Update - Erick Deshaun Dorris

Mr. Erick Deshaun Dorris gave a brief update on the Arts Commission's goals, discussed a unique opportunity through the American Rescue Plan Act to invest in our public arts program and how the arts could contribute to public safety through creative placemaking.

Laurie McPhillips spoke regarding Council Memo 304-21: Annexation of 2 Parcels Located at the Northeast Corner of Chippewa Street and Iroquois Street and 305-21: Annexation of 0.23 Acres Located at 800 Magnolia Drive.

Georgine Williams spoke in opposition of Council Memo 307-21: Ordinances Associated with 1101 N. Broadway Street.

Tom Osterberger, attorney for the petitioner, spoke regarding Council Memo 309-21: Ordinance Approving a Special Use Permit for a Tire Repair and Sales Center, Located at 3100 Channahon Road.

Joe Merzoni, attorney for the petitioner, spoke in favor Council Memo 307-21. Councilman Clement spoke regarding this item.

Nate Washburn, attorney for the petitioners, spoke regarding Council Memo 310-21: Ordinance Approving a Special Use Permit for a Truck Terminal Including Truck Service and Repair; Truck Wash Facility; Commercial Truck Sales; Rental and Leasing; Truck and Trailer Parking; and Office Space, Located at 175 McDonald Avenue and 311-21: Ordinance Approving A Preliminary Plat of Mound Road Logistics Center Subdivision.
