Mike Fricilone wants 3rd District Congressional voters to know they have a choice.

“I stand in line with views and values of the people of the community while my opponent is a sociologist following in the mold of Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and AOC,” Fricilone told the Will County Gazette. “I’m going to Washington to be their voice and carry their values.”

Fricilone is spending the last few days before his showdown with Democrat Marie Newman reminding voters of all the same things he has stressed to them throughout his campaign.

“We’ve got a couple events this weekend where I’ll be reminding them of what my opponent stands for in terms of wanting to defund the police and how she has refused to denounce (embattled State House Speaker) Mike Madigan,” he said. “I really feel if Gov. Pritzker doesn’t try something like shutting down the polls we’ll be just fine.”

Once in Washington, Fricilone said he has a clear view about what he wants to quickly accomplish.

“At the head of the list is getting the next CARES Act passed,” he said. “We’ve got to find a way to get money and resources to our businesses and all the people that are suffering,” he said.

Fricilone argues Pritzker recently moving to reenact COVID-19 restrictions in at least 24 counties only figure to make the state’s financial struggles more pronounced.

“The governor is killing our small business industry with all these restrictions,” he said. “If our restaurants aren’t allowed to have indoor dining, they’re out of business. It’s the last thing the people of this state need and I really thing part of the governor’s motivation for doing it right now is to scare people into not coming out to vote.”
