Wheatland Township issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.
Monday night by an overwhelming majority, Wheatland Township Republican Organization decided it will no
longer stand by as the Pat Brady’s, Steve Chirico’s and now Jim Edgar’s of the party openly endorse Democrat
opponents of Republican candidates. In response to recent proclamations, the Republican organization voted for and passed a Resolution in support of President Trump.
“Every Illinois Republican organization should be rebuking this behavior which demoralizes hard working
volunteers and down ballot candidates. He is our Republican President and he should be supported. We fought in the primary. It is time to be unified,” Wheatland Township Republican Organization Chairman, Raquel
Mitchell, stated.
The Wheatland Township Republican Organization encourages every Republican to go out and vote for the
President and especially the down ballot candidates.
Wheatland Township Republican Organization 2020 Resolution To Declare Support for President Donald J. Trump
WHEREAS the leader of the Republican party holds the highest office in the land as President of the United States and has
duly acquired the nomination for a second term and
WHEREAS Wheatland Township Republican Organization is dedicated to sharing and preserving our belief in smaller
government, low taxation, and free market principles in addition to the sanctity of all life and
WHEREAS we believe our President to have met and exceeded those basic standards through policy in governance and
WHEREAS we believe in the strength of a united Republican party in the face of those who seek to destroy the prosperity and potential of this state and its communities
WHEREAS we will not recognize nor be a party of Pat Brady and Steve Chirico but a party of those like Everett Dirksen and Ronald Reagan who define the true meaning of our party during times of political turmoil.
WHEREAS, we agree with our newly adopted Illinois Republican platform which resolved to support an “America First” agenda
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of Wheatland Township Republican Organization support an
America First agenda as well and may it be known that this organization recognizes President Donald John Trump as the rightful leader to reintroduce the founding of our party and the principles that will save our Republic for posterity.
