In the eyes of Mike Fricilone, his 3rd Congressional District Democrat rival Marie Newman is completely out of step with the people she’s campaigning to represent.

“She talks about building bridges and not walls, but yet we’ve done polling in the community where 70% of people are against the defund the police message she’s still spreading,” Fricilone told the Will County Gazette. “We need public safety and safe communities and the way that happens is to have police presence across the area.”

Fricilone points out Newman also stands in support of House Resolution 7120, which directly calls for “reprogramming police funding.” She signaled during the recent rioting and looting that took place across where she stood by taking to social media to post, “Keep up the pressure. This is how change happens.”

Fricilone argues it all comes to spell just one thing.

“She’s following the leftists, extremist Washington agenda,” he said. “They want to change everything about government and the way we operate. They want to control everything about the way we live and she’s joining in with mix.”

In the end, Fricilone argues the people of the district deserve much better than he feels Newman stands for.

“The hard-working people of the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois support the police and their efforts to keep us safe,” he added. “People deserve to feel safe in their home and know that their children are safe, their small businesses are safe and that their parents and grandparents are safe. Defunding the police makes our neighborhoods more dangerous.”

Fricilone recently blasted the progressive tax proposal now being pushed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker as representative as just more of the same.

“It will mean a lot more people will leave the state and the tax burden on everyone that stays will only be increased over time,” he said.
