Braidwood Fire Protection District responded to 79 calls in 2018 - 16.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Braidwood included 34 fires - 16 structure fires, one vehicle fire and 17 other fires.

In all, the department saw $225,600 in fire loss - or about $6,635 per fire.

The department also received 45 false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and one was injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Braidwood Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $2,787,355 in 2018.
