Homer Township Fire Protection District responded to 309 calls in 2018 - 17.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Homer included 54 fires - 36 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 10 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $431,000 in fire loss - or about $7,981 per fire.

The department also received 254 false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
