Joliet Fire District responded to 1542 calls in 2018 - 2.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Joliet included 335 fires - 136 structure fires, 79 vehicle fires and 120 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $3,364,874 in fire loss - or about $10,044 per fire.

The department also received 1203 false calls, including 32 malicious calls and 1171 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.

The Joliet Fire District had an annual budget of $4,169,181 in 2017.
