Steger Estates Volunteer Fire Department responded to 30 calls in 2018 - 18.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Steger Estates included 20 fires - 17 structure fires, two vehicle fires and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $46,500 in fire loss - or about $2,325 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Steger Estates Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $306,168 in 2018.
