Village of Shorewood Village Board met July 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Due to the outbreak of Covid 19, the Village of Shorewood is permitting, but discouraging, in person attendance at the Village meetings. Those attending the meeting will be required to comply with social distancing and other requirements. The Village will enforce the Gov.' s executive order prohibiting the gathering of 50 or more people so some may not be permitted to physically attend.

However, attendance will also be allowed by phone or videoconference. The meeting may also be viewed on SCCTV Comcast channel 6 or AT& T U-verse channel 99. The meeting can also be streamed live on the Village website athttp://vil.Shorewood.IL.US/govemment/video.aspx.

MAYOR RICHARD CHAPMAN CALLED TO ORDER THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SHOREWOOD VILLAGE BOARD AT 7:00P.M.

THE MEETING WAS CONDUCTED BOTH ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH A CONFERENCE CALL WHICH WAS AUTHORIZED BY GOVERNOR PRITZER VIA THE OPEN MEETINGS ACT Per Attorney Dave Silverman AND THE BOARD AND ADMINISTRATOR AT THE VILLAGE HALL.

ROLL CALL

After the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the following answered to Roll Call: Mayor Richard Chapman, Trustees: Clarence DeBold, Stevan Brockman, Daniel Warren, Barbara Kirkland and Village Administrator

James Culotta, Police Chief Aaron Klima, Economic Development Director Kelley Chrisse, Attorney Dave Silverman. Also present electronically were: Trustee Anthony Luciano, Finance Director Anne Burkholder, Chief building Official John Komorowski, and Noriel Noriega Public Works Superintendent. Bryan Welch Christopher Burke Engineering. Trustee Dan Anderson Absent. The number present constitutes a quorum.

CITIZENS-

The pubic was invited to listen to the meeting and make comments, or email their comments to the Village Administrator all prior to the meeting. No citizens spoke or commented.

CONSENT AGENDA

1. Approval of accounts payable intheamount of $ 146,523.09

2. Approval of the regular meeting minutes on July 14, 2020

Trustee Kirkland made a motion to remove the regular meeting minutes from thea enda. Seconded by Trustee Warren. Roll Call: Yeas: DeBold, Luciano, Warren, Kirkland, and Brockman. Nays: None. Absent Trustee Anderson. Approved. Motion Carried.

Trustee DeBold made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as read as amended. Seconded by Trustee Warren. Roll Call: Yeas: DeBold, Luciano, Warren, Kirkland, and Brockman. Nays: None. Absent Trustee

Anderson. Approved. Motion Carried.

REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS-

Proclamations, comments etc. 

Mayor Chapman reported that there were kids in the Village that got hurt due to illegal fireworks. He wants to remind everyone that fireworks are not safe and should only be set off by professionals. He also asks that everyone wear there masks.

ORDER OF BUSINESS NONE

Trustee Warren- No report

Trustee Brockman- The next P& Z meeting will be August 5 at 7: 00 PM at the Village hall. There are 2 agenda items. Conditional use to operate physical culture health service gymnasium and reducing salon at 312 Gregory, Rise Above 

Text amendments and add and revise definitions

Amend fence regulations. 

Clarify regulations regarding corner lot visibility. 

Relocate mobile home park regulations from building code into the zoning district. 

Regulate nonconformities. 

Update the zoning officer' s responsibilities.

Trustee Kirkland

Parks and Recreation Update for July 28, 2020 

The splash pads are open but please social distance.

The rental applications are available for the pavilions except the North Pavilion.

Trustee Luciano 

Trustee Luciano sent out a questionnaire to the CAC members regarding the chicken ordinance. 17 people responded; 3 thought it was okay, 5 said it was okay with conditions and 9 no' s. Conditions were no roosters, no slaughtering, limiting to one or two chickens, sanitation class and must have 3 acres of land. Trustee Luciano stated the next meeting is in September and that if anyone was interested in joining the Ctizens Advisory Committee, they can contact him or any members of the committee through their emails found on the Village website.

EXECUTIVE SESSION- Personnel, to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal ofspecific employees. There was no executive session.

ADJOURNMENT 

Trustee Warren made a motion to adjourn from the regular meeting_Seconded by Trustee DeBold_Roll Call: Yeas: DeBold, Luciano, Warren, Kirkland, and Brockman. Nays: None. Anderson Absent.

Approved. Motion Carried. 7: 15 P.M.
