Analysis: Joliet pays $3.91 for every $1 pensioners contribute to East Joliet FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.6 percent of the $351,185 the East Joliet FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.91 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Joliet contributed $268,916 to the fund, which saw a $209,993 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $68,670, or 19.6 percent, in 2018. Another $13,599 came from other unspecified sources.
