Analysis: Manhattan pays $2.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Manhattan FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 68.2 percent of the $292,076 the Manhattan FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Manhattan contributed $199,114 to the fund, which saw a $42,230 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $92,962, or 31.8 percent, in 2018.
