Analysis: Manhattan pays $5.31 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Manhattan Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.2 percent of the $493,074 the Manhattan Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.31 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Manhattan contributed $415,008 to the fund, which saw a $103,375 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $78,066, or 15.8 percent, in 2018.
