Analysis: Wilmington pays $4.11 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wilmington FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80 percent of the $141,276 the Wilmington FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.11 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wilmington contributed $113,000 to the fund, which saw a $36,228 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $27,480, or 19.5 percent, in 2018. Another $796 came from other unspecified sources.
