City of Crest Hill Plan Commission met March 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

The Plan Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman David Izquierdo, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the City Building.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited in unison.

Roll call indicated the following present: Chairman David Izquierdo, Commissioner Ken Carroll, Commissioner Joe Casagrande, Commissioner Jan Plettau.

Also present were: Community Development Director Scott McMaster, City Attorney Mike Stiff, Administration Clerk Laurie Thrasher.

Absent were: Commissioner John Stanton, Commissioner Linda Strysik, Commissioner William O'Connor.

Chairman David Izquierdo presented the minutes from the regular meeting held on January 8, 2020 for Commission approval.

(#1) Motion by Commissioner Carroll, seconded by Commissioner Plettau, to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on January 8, 2020 as presented. On roll call, the vote was: AYES: Commissioner Carroll, Plettau, Chairman Izquierdo. NAYES: None. ABSENT: Commissioner Strysik, Stanton, O'Connor. ABSTAIN: Commissioner Casagrande. There being three (3) affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED. (29)

PUBLIC HEARING: (38) Chairman Izquierdo asked for a motion to open the public hearing on case #SU-20-2-3-1 for a B-3 special use at 1604 Caton Farm Road. Chairman Izquierdo asked if the necessary paperwork was in order. Administration Clerk Thrasher informed the Commission that the legal notice was published in the Joliet Herald News by City Staff, but notification to property owners within 300 feet of the property was not done by the petitioner. Chairman Izquierdo informed the petitioner that we will have to open the public hearing and table the case until the regular meeting to be held on April 8, 2020.

(#2) Motion by Commissioner Carroll, seconded by Commissioner Casagrande, to open the public hearing on case #SU-20-2-3-1 On roll call, the vote was: AYES: Commissioner Carroll, Casagrande, Plettau, Carroll, Chairman Izquierdo. NAYES: None,

ABSENT: Commissioner Strysik, Stanton, O'Connor.

There being four (4) affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED. (58)

The public hearing was opened at 7:04 p.m.

(69) Chairman Izquierdo asked for a motion to table the public hearing for SU-20-2-3-1 until the April 8, 2020 Plan Commission meeting. Chairman Izquierdo advised the petitioner to get the notification done and get the necessary paperwork into the City prior to the meeting

(#3) Motion by Commissioner Casagrande, seconded by Commissioner Plettau, to table case #SU-20-2-3-1 until the April 8, 2020 Plan Commission meeting so that the petitioner can get the notification done and get the necessary paperwork into the City prior to the meeting.

On roll call, the vote was: AYES: Commissioner Casagrande, Plettau, Carroll, Chairman Izquierdo. NAYES: None ABSENT: Commissioner Strysik, Stanton, O'Connor. There being four (4) affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED. (84)

(98) Chairman Izquierdo asked for a motion to open the public hearing on case #SU-20 3-2-2 for a B-3 special use at 1909 Plainfield Road. Chairman Izquierdo asked if the necessary paperwork was in order. Administration Clerk Thrasher informed the Commission that the legal notice was published in the Joliet Herald News by City Staff, but notification to property owners within 300 feet of the property was not done by the petitioner. The public hearing was opened at 7:06 p.m.

(126) Chairman Izquierdo asked for a motion to table the public hearing for SU-20-3-2-2 until the April 8, 2020 Plan Commission meeting. Chairman Izquierdo advised the petitioner to get the notification done and get the necessary paperwork into the City prior to the meeting.

There being four (4) affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED. (136)

PUBLIC COMMENTS: (145) There were no public comments.

There being no further business before the Commission a motion for adjournment was in order.

(#6) Motion by Commissioner Casagrande, seconded by Commissioner Plettau, to adjourn the March 11, 2020 Plan Commission meeting. On roll call, the vote was: AYES: Commissioner Casagrande, Plettau, Carroll, Chairman Izquierdo. NAYES: None. ABSENT: Commissioner Strysik, Stanton, O'Connor. There being four (4) affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED. (148)

The meeting was adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
