City of Joliet Public Safety Committee met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Roll Call

PRESENT: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug.

ABSENT: None.

ALSO PRESENT: Fire Chief Joe Formhals, Police Chief Al Roechner, Deputy Chief Darrell Gavin, Deputy Chief Mike Batis, Deputy Chief Marc Reid.

2. Citizens to be Heard on Agenda Items:

None.

3. Approval of Minutes - April 16, 2019 and June 5, 2019

4. Request Approval to Amend the 2019 Annual Budget Ordinance in the amount of $100,000.00 for the purchase of an Ambulance for the Joliet Fire Department.

Fire Chief Joe Formhals briefly discussed Ordinance Amending the 2019 Annual Budget for the City of Joliet in the amount of $100,000 as a Partial Payment for Purchase of an Ambulance; Motion to accept a $200,000 revolving loan from the Office of the State Fire Marshall (OSFM) to use as payment for the remaining balance of the cost of an ambulance.

Motion to amend the 2019 Annual Budget Ordinance in the amount of $100,000 for the purchase of an Ambulance for the Joliet Fire Department. was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

Motion seconded by Councilman Larry E. Hug. Motion carried by the following vote:

AYES: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug.

NAYS: None.

Council Memo Ordinance Amending a 2019 Annual Budget for the City of Joliet for Purchase of an Ambulance

5. Presentation Proposal for the Joliet Police Department to purchase LeadsOnline. The nationwide comprehensive case solving power of LeadsOnline is built to help address some staffing shortages while also helping to significantly increase clearance rates.

Deputy Chief Darrell Gavin briefly discussed the Proposal for the Joliet Police Department to purchase LeadsOnline.

Motion to recommend Proposal for the Joliet Police Department to purchase LeadsOnline to full Council. was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug.

Motion seconded by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. Motion carried by the following vote:

AYES: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug.

NAYS: None.

6. Public Comments:

None.

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug.
