Former state school employee Toth paid in $155K to teachers' pension fund, could collect $3.87M in retirement

Former state school employee Jacqueline Toth, who retired in June 2018, saved $154,908 toward a pension over 39 years working for public schools, Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Toth would collect as much as $3.87 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Will County Gazette.

The projection assumes Toth received $81,317 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Toth will have already received $165,074 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the teachers' pension fund.
