Former state school employee Stempora Molk paid in $55K to teachers' pension fund, could collect $779K in retirement

Former state school employee Pamela Stempora Molk, who retired in June 2017, saved $55,085 toward a pension over 12 years working for public schools, Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Stempora Molk would collect as much as $779,165, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Will County Gazette.

The projection assumes Stempora Molk received $16,377 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 4 years of retirement, Stempora Molk will have already received $68,514 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the teachers' pension fund.
