City of Joliet issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.
The City of Joliet remains under a Winter Weather Advisory for Icy road conditions until 9 pm. Please use caution while driving on area roads as there will be slick spots. All City streets have been treated with salt but there may still be icy spots. Pavement and air temperatures continue to rise and we anticipate a rainy evening. We hope to be out of the Icy mix within a couple hours. Until then the City Street Department will monitor the roadways.
