Lawrence "Larry" Walsh, Jr. led Republican Rick Laib in votes cast in Troy Township for the District 86 state House race, according to the latest vote count.
Walsh appeared to outpace Laib by a margin of 20.7 percent on Tuesday in the township.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Lawrence "Larry" Walsh, won by a margin of 8.6 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Diane Harris, who received 1,995 votes to Walsh's 2,371.
