Running backs Keenan Hailey and Nick Iannantone headline a list of eight Joliet Catholic football players recently named to the East Suburban Catholic Conference All-Conference team.
According to the school’s Facebook page, joining Hailey and Iannantone on the team are offensive linemen Coin Cox, Dave Monnot and Ty O’Janovac.
Linebacker Max Briscoe and defensive backs Mundo Meyer and Kurt Weis were also named to the all-conference team.
Hailey, who recently rushed for three scores in the Hilltoppers Class 5A opening round playoff win over Metamora, was tabbed as the conference’s Most Valuable Offensive Player.
The senior tailback came back to rush for 180 yards on just 17 carries in Joliet Catholic’s 49-7 second-round playoff win over Marion.
The Hilltoppers (7-4) are now poised to face Highland in the Class 5A quarterfinals at Joliet Memorial Stadium. Joliet Catholic has now won four of their last five games by an average of 32 points while averaging nearly 48 points.
