Channahon Area Chamber of Commerc issued the following announcement on Aug. 2.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District, released a draft of the DuPage River, Illinois Feasibility Report and Integrated Environmental Assessment” on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
Public meetings are scheduled for the purpose of providing the public with information about the project and seek input from members of the community and other stakeholders on the recommended plan. The details for the meetings are as follows:

The study for the DuPage River and its tributaries investigated overbank and backwater flooding in high-risk areas to develop alternatives to mitigate flood risks. The study area included forty communities in the counties of DuPage and Will and comprised approximately 900,000 residents.
