City of Joliet issued the following announcement on July 10.
As part of the work associated with the construction of the Joliet Park District’s Nowell Park Community Center, Mills Road from IL Route 53 to Gardner Street (US Route 52) will be closed beginning Wednesday, July 11, 2018. A detour route utilizing Gardner Street (US Route 52), Doris Avenue (US Route 52), and IL Route 53 will be posted. It is expected that the work will be completed and the road reopened by Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution and seek alternate routes when traveling in the area. For additional information contact the City of Joliet Department of Public Works at 815-724-4200.
