Homer Township Fire Protection District responded to 373 calls in 2017 - 13.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Homer included 91 fires - 58 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 27 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $550,300 in fire loss - or about $6,047 per fire.

The department also received 280 false calls, including one malicious call and 279 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
