Beecher Fire Protection District responded to 127 calls in 2017 - 25.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Beecher included 60 fires - 34 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 17 other fires.

In all, the department saw $68,650 in fire loss - or about $1,144 per fire.

The department also received 67 false calls, including 13 malicious calls and 54 other false calls.

The Beecher Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,572,870 in 2017.
