Homer FPD responds to four fires in 2017

Homer Fire Protection District responded to nine calls in 2017 - 200 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Homer included four fires - two structure fires, one vehicle fire and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $185,000 in fire loss - or about $46,250 per fire.

The department also received five false calls, including one malicious call and four other false calls.
