Report: Joliet spent $11,317 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Joliet Public Schools District 86 is up 15 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $9,883 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,317 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 11322 to 11500.

Joliet's spending in 2016-17 was 13 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
