Report: Manhattan spent $7,817 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Manhattan School District 114 is down 15 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $9,145 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,817 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1308 to 1430.

Manhattan's spending in 2016-17 was 40 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
