Analysis: Manhattan pays $3.71 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Manhattan Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.8 percent of the $342,112 the Manhattan Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.71 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Manhattan contributed $269,526 to the fund, which saw a $68,637 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $72,586, or 21.2 percent, in 2016.
