Analysis: Braidwood pays $3.44 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Braidwood Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.5 percent of the $293,653 the Braidwood Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.44 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Braidwood contributed $230,493 to the fund, which saw a $89,025 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $66,826, or 22.8 percent, in 2016.
