Bolingbrook Operation Christmas seeking donations for those in need

Christmas3

Bolingbrook’s Operation Christmas said it will continue a tradition stretching back more than four decades this December when it encourages local businesses and residents to help community members who need a little help to make the holidays special.

Operation Christmas said in a release on the village's website that it will run Dec. 7- 20 with 13 drop-off locations where community members can donate items or funds to help make Christmas special for all area residents.

The nonprofit group is looking for donations of clothing, electronics, personal items, sports equipment and toys, as well as monetary gifts, including checks and gift certificates, the release said.

Those interested in donating can do so at the Operation Christmas headquarters at 375 W Briarcliff Road, or at Summit Chiropractic, Cali Girls Cakes, Fiesta Market, Fountaindale Public Library, Tailgaters, the village of Bolingbrook, Community Service Council, Family Image, DuPage Township, Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce, Maplebrook Chiropractic and select locations of PT Solutions Physical Therapy, a Facebook posting said.

Families in need of a little extra help this Christmas can request aid by making an appointment with Operation Christmas for weekdays from Dec. 6 to 20.
