U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) cheered the Trump Administration for recently pushing new protections for those who object to contraceptive and abortion provisions in health benefit packages for employees.
“I am pleased President Trump and his Administration have reversed the unconstitutional mandate that violated the First Amendment freedoms of Americans and have instead developed a common sense rule that allows and encourages Americans to live out their religious convictions and deeply held beliefs without fear of reprisal or being forced to violate their conscience," Hultgren said in a statement.
Hultgren said the move was helping to guarantee basic freedoms for all Americans.

“Freedom to follow one’s conscience, faith and deeply held moral convictions is at the heart of our country’s identity and protected under the Constitution," Hultgren said in his statement. "Americans don’t give up those freedoms when they open a family business or enter the workplace or provide health coverage for their employees. Protecting individual liberty is crucial to ensuring a free society.”
