The Will County Republicans are focusing on recruitment, representation and rifles, according to a recent press release.
On Sept. 9, committeemen from Will County and their counterparts from DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry counties will gather at the Baker Community Center in St. Charles for Precinct Committeeman Day, an opportunity to learn and exchange ideas, according to the Will County GOP's calendar of events. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon and feature guest speakers and hands-on workshops.
On Sept. 14, the group will sponsor its fourth annual Illinois State Rifle Association Fundraiser Dinner at the Clarion Hotel in Joliet. The event will feature a keynote address from former National Rifle Association President David Keene, with talk radio host Dan Proft serving as the master of ceremonies. Tickets for the dinner are $50 per person, with the option of purchasing tables of 10.
Proft is a principal of Local Government Information Services, which owns this publication.
The GOP group also said it is currently running a recruitment challenge seeking new members as it gears up for the 2018 elections.
