Joliet native, award-winning attorney, prominent community member and member of the Frankfort School District 157C school board Christopher McFadden died June 29 at the age of 41 in his Frankfort home.
McFadden, who attended Joliet West High School, was a 1997 graduate of Harvard University where he edited the Harvard Crimson newspaper, his obituary on Legacy.com said. McFadden earned his law degree from Northwestern University, serving on its Law Review. He clerked in an Alabama federal court and on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit prior to serving as an assistant U.S. attorney in both San Diego and Chicago, according to Legacy.com.
Most recently he worked for Joliet-based Mahoney, Silverman and Cross and had served on the Lincoln-Way school board, according to the Will County Republican Central Committee, of which McFadden was also a member.
He also was active locally as a sports official.
Survivors include his wife, three children and his parents.
Services were held July 6 in Joliet.
