Benjamin "Benny" White, one of eight candidates vying for a seat on the Naperville City Council, announced March 3 he was “humbled” to receive the endorsement of the Naperville Area Chamber Political Action Committee.
White, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, announced the chamber’s support in a Facebook post. A key point of difference White is touting in his campaign is his more than two decades of active duty military service, exemplified by his teaching at both West Point and in Wheaton College’s ROTC program.
After earning master’s degrees from Webster University and Indiana University, White combined his military and academic experience for roles in local politics. His service as secretary of the Indian Prairie School Board for the past four years, plus his post on the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for Naperville, are examples of his leadership skills.
White and his wife of nearly 30 years and their two adult children will learn the election results on April 7.
