Naperville Township Clerk Barry Greenberg will hold a fundraiser next week for his re-election campaign.

The incumbent clerk faces challenger Tom Laz on Feb. 28 in the Republican primary.

Greenberg and his wife took to social media to invite friends, family and supporters to the fundraiser at Topgolf, 3211 Odyssey Court, Naperville. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.

"I would love to see all of my friends & family come out on Feb. 21 to Topgolf and support my husband, Barry Greenberg, in his campaign for re-election as Naperville Township's clerk," Mary Greenberg said. "He works diligently and tirelessly for the people of Naperville Township, and I am very proud of his dedication to his commitment. Join us for a great night!"

The event includes a light buffet, beverages and golf. Tickets are $50 each, and additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Guests are asked to RSVP by Feb. 14 by calling 630-290-9292 or emailing barrygreenberg55@gmail.com.

"This is my only fundraiser prior to the consolidated election this April, and I need your help," Greenberg posted in the Facebook fundraiser announcement. "I would very much appreciate both your attendance and support."

As township clerk, Greenberg has worked to increase voter registration, particularly at senior residences. He has organized the township's records and ensured that old records were destroyed properly.

Greenberg is a licensed attorney. He is also a decorated Vietnam veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division; he received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
