There is a new village trustee in Romeoville: Lou Aguirre has been appointed as village trustee to fill the term of Sue Micklevitz, who recently retired.
Aguirre will serve two years before her term expires in April 2019.
A Romeoville resident since 1969, Aguirre owns Lou’s Styling Place. She has served on the board of directors at the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce since 2011, Romeoville Fire and Police Commission since 2012, and Romeoville Rotary since 2016.

“Lou will be a great addition to the village board,” Mayor Joan Noak said. “She brings experience and knowledge both as a longtime resident and business owner within the community.”
Aguirre speaks fluent Spanish and has visited 24 countries, allowing her to understand and maintain a passion for disparate cultures.
“I look forward to the opportunity to represent the community and be a part of Romeoville’s continued growth,” Aguirre said.
