The 2016 Parkie's 5K is set for Saturday, Aug. 27, with registration underway.
The cost to register is $24 per adult and $22 per child. Early registration ends Aug. 26. Race-day registration starts at 6:30 a.m., with costs per runner $29 and $27 per child ages 6-14. There will be no refunds available.
To register, participants can go to BolingbrookParks.org, or stop at the Bolingbrook Park District, 200 S. Lindsey Ln. or 201 Recreation Dr.. Hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The race begins and ends at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex, 200 Lindsey Ln.
The first 500 registrants will get a moisture-wicking T-shirt. Refreshments will be provided after the race. Pre-registration race packets will be available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ashbury's at Boughton Ridge, 335 E. Boughton Rd. on Aug. 26.
