Ingalls Avenue road closures announced for water main project starting September 30

Road closures are set to begin on Ingalls Avenue in Joliet, Illinois, from Plainfield Road to North Raynor Avenue as part of the North Prairie Water Main Improvement Project. The construction of a new water main along this stretch will require daytime closures starting September 30, 2025, and continuing through November 21, 2025.

Local detours will be implemented during this period. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes while the work is underway. The City of Joliet has requested that motorists exercise caution and drive slowly through construction zones.

"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," stated city officials.
