Shirley Marie Scheiwe, aged 96, of Beecher, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025. Born on May 8, 1929, in Beecher, IL to Walter and Marie Stoeven, Shirley was baptized at the Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. On May 27, 1951, she married Harold Scheiwe, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage and a daughter, Amy.

Shirley worked at retail stores in Chicago Heights, IL, and Farmer’s State Bank/First Community Bank in Beecher. An active community member, she enjoyed cards, singing in the Zion Church Choir for over 30 years, and solving crossword puzzles. Shirley was known for her fighting spirit.

Preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Amy Dawson, parents Walter and Marie, and siblings, Shirley is survived by three grandchildren: Jodi (Igrisan), Chad, and Heather Gottberg, and Juli Gottberg. She is also survived by great-granddaughter Hannah, son-in-law Eddy Dawson, and many nieces and nephews.

The Visitation and Funeral have been relocated to Peace Lutheran Church (Eagle Lake). Pallbearers include Carey Stoeven, Steve Schroeder, Nick Grutzius, and Zack Grutzius.
