The Park Forest Art Fair will return for its 69th year on September 20 and 21, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event will be held on the Village Green in DownTown Park Forest, near Main Street and Cunningham Drive.

This year’s fair will include four new artists joining many returning participants. Attendees can expect to see a variety of artwork across several media, such as oil, acrylic, watercolor painting, photography, printmaking, woodwork, glass, pottery, and fiber arts.

Mae Brandon of the Tall Grass Arts Association emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining the tradition. “It’s important for people to come out and support this event so we can keep the tradition alive,” Brandon said. “When you support the artists, you’re also supporting the cultural life of Park Forest.”

Brandon also pointed out that visitors have an opportunity to purchase unique items at the fair. “People will be able to buy jewelry and artwork at the fair, with prices varying to ensure there’s something for everyone,” she explained.

The Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery will remain open during both days of the fair. Admission is free for all events including entry to the gallery and gift shop. The current exhibit at the gallery is titled "The Whole Kit and Kaboodle" and features more than 70 artists working in different styles from realistic paintings to abstract works.

Saturday’s entertainment lineup includes performances by Rowgers Duo and Blend Acoustic. Food vendors will be present throughout the weekend along with a Kids Art Alley for younger attendees. Artists participating in this year’s fair are being featured on the association’s Facebook page.

For additional information about the event or gallery hours, interested individuals can contact the Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery at 708-748-3377.
