ROLL CALL

Present Quinn Adamowski, John Stefanski, Tomas Ponce and Herb Lande

Absent Natalie Coleman

ALSO PRESENT: Police Chief William Evans, Deputy Chief Sherrie Blackburn, Deputy Chief Robert Brown, Deputy Chief, and Carlos Matlock.

CLOSED SESSION

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by John Stefanski, to enter into closed session to discuss hiring of police officers.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Adamowski, Stefanski, Ponce and Lande

Absent: Coleman

The meeting reconvened at approximately 5:19 p.m. with Chairman Adamowski, Secretary Stefanski, Commissioner Ponce, and Commissioner Lande in attendance. Commissioner Coleman was absent.

Hiring Police Officers TMP-8809

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Tomas Ponce, to approve the conditional hiring of Lateral Applicant #1 Jeffrey Gersch to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Adamowski, Stefanski, Ponce and Lande

Absent: Coleman

A motion was made by John Stefanski, seconded by Herb Lande, to approve the hiring of Entry Level Applicant #1 Carlos Zamora to the Joliet Police Department.

The motion failed by the following vote:

Nay: Adamowski, Stefanski, Ponce and Lande

Absent: Coleman

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by John Stefanski, to approve the conditional hiring of Entry Level Applicant #2 Alexander Torres to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Adamowski, Stefanski, Ponce and Lande

Absent: Coleman

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Tomas Ponce, to approve the hiring of Entry Level Applicant #3 Shenoa Simmons to the Joliet Police Department.

The motion failed by the following vote:

Nay: Adamowski, Stefanski, Ponce and Lande

Abstain: Coleman

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Tomas Ponce, to approve the conditional hiring of Entry Level Applicant #5 Christopher Alexander to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by John Stefanski, to approve the conditional hiring of Entry Level Applicant #7 Aidan Bell to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Herb Lande, to approve the hiring of Entry Level Applicant #9 Sergio Paredes Bautista to the Joliet Police Department.

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by John Stefanski, to approve the conditional hiring of Entry Level Applicant #10 Antonio Bedolla to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Tomas Ponce, to approve the conditional hiring of Entry Level Applicant #14 Kevon Dorris to the Joliet Police Department pending successful completion of his vision and medical exams.

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by John Stefanski, to approve the hiring of Entry Level Applicant #15 William Dickman to the Joliet Police Department.

A motion was made by Herb Lande, seconded by Tomas Ponce, to approve the hiring of Entry Level Applicant #16 Lucas Coyl to the Joliet Police Department.
