Florence "Flo" Ann Ball, 94, Remembered for Love of Family and Community

Florence Ball | Vandenberg Funeral Home - Mokena

Florence "Flo" Ann Ball, aged 94, late of Plainfield but formerly of Frankfort, IL, passed away on August 23, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Ball and the loving mother of the late Larry Ball, Sharon (Richard) Mikula, and Cindy (Michael) Fuchs. Florence was the cherished grandmother of Dawn Jost, Kevin (Katelyn) Fuchs, Tania (Jordan) Kneynsberg, Kayla (Gavin) Wright, and Bridget (Raymond) Craig. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Kendall Jost, Ryan Jost, Kenton Fuchs, Kolton Fuchs, Klayton Fuchs, Gwendolyn Kneynsberg, Kiernan Kneynsberg, Livia Kneynsberg, Roland Kneynsberg, Wesley Wright, Skyler Craig, and Bailey Craig. Florence is survived by her sister Wilma Vandermark and was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Carrie Schudlt, and siblings Charles Jr., Shirley Koester, Joann McLemore, and Roger Schudlt.

Florence and Jack were active members of the Good Sam Club – Lincolnway Sams, where they shared many camping and travel adventures in their RV. With over 50 years as a Frankfort resident, Florence cherished her community and the friendships she formed. In her later years, she found happiness at Lakewood Nursing Home, engaging in activities like bingo and forging a special friendship with Lydia.

A visitation to honor Florence's memory will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM, with a Chapel Service following at 12:00 Noon at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena. Florence will be privately interred at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee.
