CUSTER PARK, Aug. 17, 2025 - Rosemary A. Skole, a dedicated former Joliet Police Department cadet and respected member of the Reed-Custer School District's food service team, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 at her home in Custer Park, IL.

Born on September 14, 1949, in Joliet, IL, Skole made history as one of the Joliet Police Department's first female cadets before transitioning to a role in the records division. Later in her career, she served the community at Custer Park Primary School, where her warm presence was a familiar sight to many students.

Skole prided herself on her family, particularly her cherished granddaughters. She enjoyed cooking, trips to the casino, and traveling to Fort Myers Beach, FL. Skole had a green thumb and found solace in her garden and the beauty of her flowers.

Survived by her husband, Gregory, and daughter Suzanne (Robert) Kersmarki of Custer Park, IL, Skole leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. She is also remembered by siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation rites have been performed, and a memorial visitation is scheduled for September 13, 2025, at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, followed by a memorial mass at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Donations in memory of Rosemary Skole can be made to Uplifted Care or Pink Heels, Joliet Area Chapter.
