Betty M. Van Duyne | Baskerville Funeral Home - Wilmington

Betty M. Van Duyne, nee O'Brien, age 91, of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born on August 2, 1934, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and community.

Betty was a dedicated member of St. Rose Catholic Parish, where her tireless efforts with the Council of Catholic Women spanned over 50 years. Known for her culinary skills, Betty's Asian chicken salad and deviled eggs were a staple at many gatherings. Her commitment to service extended to volunteering for various charitable organizations, including the University of Illinois Home Extension and Our Caring Closet. Betty was honored for her service as the Woman of the Year by the council and as a model in community style shows.

Family was at the center of Betty's life; her dedication was evident through her unwavering support and deep love for her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation for Betty will be held on Monday, August 12, 2025, at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home in Crestwood, IL, with the funeral service to follow the next day at St. Damian Catholic Church in Oak Forest. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the TLC Animal Shelter.
